One of the newly opened Milk Tea Coffe Shops here in Cebu is the Sprockets Cafe, it is situated in Apitong street (see google maps below). You can immediately see the place across the street or when riding a jeepney 12L from Ayala Center Cebu. The place itself is huge and spacious , more like a restaurant than a coffee shop.
The first thing you will actually see when you get inside the shop are the line of pictures used as a wallpaper (I mean in the wall). The first thought that it is a collage but it is actually a collection of Lomography pictures
Their menu consist of various various milk tea products which is good for variety, I happened to choose their specialty/ best seller (which I actually asked the waiter), the Honeydrew milk tea. I was also asked about the sweetness level of the milk tea which is consist of 100% -Sweet 75% – mild 50% up to 25% (really no idea how they measure it in actual servings).
The Milk tea itself is delicious, the Honeydrew Milk Tea has a mint taste in it with black pearls of sago toppings. Though the sweetness level is not really that in control, the 50% sweetness level is sweeter that the Azuki Milk Tea with 75% sweetness, though the Azuki taste really good with the Azuki Red Beans as the toppings.
Also got to chance to taste their side dish, the Quesadillas which is also tasty.
A quesadilla – is a flour or corn tortilla filled with a savory mixture containing cheese and other ingredients, then folded in half to form a half-moon shape.[1] This dish originated in Mexico, and the name is derived from the Spanish word queso (cheese).Source Wiki.
Though the food/Milk tea presentation is not yet that outstanding but it is still presentable. The cups(plastic) are not yet decorated or designed yet though it is understandable because it is still a new Cafe.
We also got to taste which I think is their specialty dessert and it is not yet in the menu when we were there. The Choco Lava, yes, the word speak to itself as the pure chocolate brownies topped with Ice cream and top with choco syrup. You just can’t stop divulging in your mouth with the texture and the right blend, though it is kinda sweet (as expected), the blend and the mixture is really great and the presentation itself which will never deceive your eyes and your taste buds as it is one of the best desserts I have ever tasted (and why it is not in their menu yet? really.. ) π
Milk Tea Coffee Shops here in Cebu are spreading like wildfire and this one is a must try for those Milk Tea lovers out there who wants to try something new and fresh. As part of the boom of coffee industry in the city, you will never be disappointed with this one. π
