    The newly opened Choobi Choobi Native Restaurant opens its door to the public at Parkmall Mandaue Cebu. Another restaurant for the seafood lovers out there especially who loves shrimps and prawns at a very affordable price.

    “The name Choobi Choobi was inspired by my grandfather who, after eating a great meal, would say choobi choobi,” said owner Stan Tanchan. “It’s a Chinese word that loosely translates to ‘lingaw lingaw’ in Cebuano.

    Choobi Choobi is a family oriented restaurant that offers good food at reasonable prices, which is what the typical Cebuano wants. We want everyone to experience the joy of eating without having to worry about the price.” Choobi Choobi offers mostly Filipino food and the owner has their own farm to always provide the freshest seafoods like prawns and shrimps, as well as organic vegetables and free-ranging chickens.     It comes as no surprise then that the house specialty is the ‘Shrimp In the Bag’, which is one pound of fresh shrimp plus sweet com on the cob in five different sauces priced at P350.00. Customers can choose between butter gariic, sauteed in garlic, spicy gata, mild & spicy Choobi sauce, or the extra spicy whaahl sauce.

    “Another specialty I am very fond of is the ‘Lola Pepang’s Fried Manok BisdakV Tanchan continued. “This was my great-grandmother’s recipe and is served at family gatherings until now.” Choobi Choobi has also spiced up its menu by offering new twists to all-time favorites.

    “We also cook Cebuano favourites in new ways, such as the fried adobong kanding, the crispy balbacua, and a special stuffed squid,” said Tanchan. “Our customers are really enjoying these dishes, and it looks like these will be a mainstay in our menu.”

    Other Choobi Choohi species include the Choobi pata. belly dance, okiname tuna belly okiname tuna panga. grilled pompano. and the Choobi house blend iced tea.

    They have plans in expanding in Ayala Center Cebu in the future. They also cater receptions, parties and other occasions.
