Celebrating Chinese New has been a tradition here in not only in China but also here in Cebu, since Chinese culture has huge impact not only in our culture but in our lifestyle as well.
This year, Waterfront Cebu Hotel and Casino celebrates it by turning the red lights on with its traditional Chinese temple inside the lobby where shades of red lights reflects the area where you can take pictures and even wish for the New Year.
Dragon dance is a form of traditional dance and performance in Chinese culture. Like the lion dance it is most often seen in festive celebrations. The dance is performed by a team of dancers who manipulate a long flexible figure of a dragon using poles positioned at regular intervals along the length of the dragon. The celebration also showcased a grand fireworks display which is witnessed not only by the tenants in the hotel but also the people around the area. After that, there is the Dragon dance which is a popular Chinese tradition of dance celebration
Many are enjoying the Dragon dance where people witnessed the performance which is also believed to bring good luck to people whenever the dragon dances, the longer the dance, more luck will come to the people and the community.
what better way to celebrate the Cebu Waterfront Chinese New Year than to try their scrumptious food at the Waterfront Uno Restaurant. This is there main restaurant serving buffet dishes.
Their food includes Filipino cuisine, Chinese cuisine, Japanese cuisine and many more. What I like about the UNO restaurant is that the place is spacious and you will have trouble passing by the buffet table.
One of my favorite dish is their sisig dishes where you can choose from pork, chicken and bangus sisig and it is cook and prepared by their chefs in the counter. I also like their tinola manok which is just very Filipino in terms of preparation and taste and reminds you of a home cooked meal.
They also have the suhi and maki which is a popular Japanese cuisine. For their dessert they have these New Year Cake , egg tart, ube rolls and many other sweets you can chose from.
The location of the restaurant is also perfect if you are residing at the Hotel or even near the place since you can stroll around the hotel after you dine in and look at other places to visit like the Duty Free Store, Casino, even Victorias Secret shop or just chill at the lobby and enjoy great drinks and music (they have a live band in given days at the lobby)
