1. In a high-edge saucepan, place an abundant amount of water and put the pot over medium heat to boil the water.
2. Put the onions, cinnamon, pepper and cardamom inside the chicken cavity. place the chicken in boiling water and add salt. When the water boils again skim off the chicken foam. Cover the pot and let the chicken cook for half an hour or until it is completely tender.
